Esta es la historia del nacimiento de los Kakua del clan Pájaro, que se entreteje con los arrullos que las mayores cantan a los niños y las niñas mientras los duermen en sus hamacas.

Dormir al niño (fragmento)

                        En la antigüedad, nosotros nacimos en jʉohwa, el clan Pájaro. Mis abuelos nacieron sin vestido, desnudos. Ellos se cubrían con un traje de algodones especiales. Ellos habían colocado el algodón primero a los hombres. En nuestro idioma, ese traje de algodón se dice yʉi panihni. Las mujeres también estaban desnudas, no tenían ropa. 
El dios sacó entonces a mis abuelos de un hueco; ellos salieron, iban bajando. En una isla, abajito, había una laguna, entonces ellos hicieron un círculo y dijeron: «Nosotros ya estamos haciendo un círculo para poder secar nuestro cuerpo. Bajémonos a una playa». En la playa, dijeron: «Ya nacimos». Después habían sacado un canasto y una cerbatana, después de sacar eso dijeron: «Bajémonos en la cachivera» —en nuestro idioma, decimos: diij tiro dóo—. Ellos habían subido a la playa y empezaron a secar sus cuerpos. Después de que secaron todo su cuerpo, dijeron: «Ya estamos».
Ellos ya se habían repartido ese territorio entre los ʉohw; el terreno ya estaba dividido. Nosotros los jʉohw, después de decir eso, nosotros los habíamos tenido bebés. Cuando tuvimos bebés, las abuelas hablaban así: 
Hijo no llores, hijo no llores, quédate callado, cállate hijo,
 cállate bebé, cállate, por qué no duermes. Brrr, brrr, duérmete, brr, brr, brr, cállese, duérmete bebé, le decían mientras le mecían la hamaca,
 mecían, mecían, mecían la hamaca al bebé y decían brr, brr, brr, jajajo, jajajo,
jajaaajoo, cállese. Eso cantaban mis abuelas antepasadas, que andaban así desnudas. Según el traductor, diij tiro dóo es un raudal en Brasil.
